About PriceGrabber.com and Best Selling Laptops and Notebooks

In a previous post about laptop buyers and Microsoft Windows where I argued a point made by Preston Gralla on his post about the same topic, I mentioned PriceGrabber.com related to best selling laptops. Now it’s time to go deep into this matter. PriceGrabber.com is an online comparison shopping engine with approximately 26 million consumers each month and up-to-date daily pricing of products supplied by more than 12,000 sellers. It’s pointless to say that we cannot provide a best selling laptops list from PriceGrabber.com since this is only an online shopping comparison engine and he cannot track online sales made on online stores that PriceGrabber.com is monitoring. The tool provided to online shoppers instead is a most popular list that tracks the clicks on items provided by its users. The conclusion is that PriceGrabber.com tracks the online shopping intention and not the actual transaction closing between buyer and the online shop. Considering the purpose of PriceGraber.com engine I think that this information can be reliable though. Most of us do not visit an online shopping comparison engine if we do not actually want to buy something. So, from now I will take a look at PriceGrabber.com’s most popular laptop list. Initially I wanted to use the most rated list too, but since the top rated product in laptops list is Powerbook G4 notebook I believe that this list is not relevant to our purpose.
